The original Tonka toys, back in 1947, were almost more of value as collector's items than toys - that's how rugged they were built.

Even though Tonka toys are now made out of plastic as well as the original metals, they are still just as popular with young boys - and girls - because of their 'true-to-life' detail.

Tonka Mighty Motorized Dump Truck with Figure
This motorized Tonka dump truck packs a surprising amount of activity inside its bright yellow, 8-inch-tall, 17.25-inch-long exterior. Three large buttons on the side of the cab control forward and reverse movements and the operation of the dumping bucket and power shovel. The truck's motor will rev and its lights will flash when it's moving, and, just like on a real construction vehicle, the horn will beep when the truck is backing up.
